In use for decades, heat pumps are an effective heating and cooling technology. Using conventional refrigeration they absorb heat from the ground, air or water and raise this to a temperature level that is suitable for use.

The most common system is an air source heat pump that draws heat from the outside air which is absorbed into a fluid that can be used to heat water for radiators, underfloor heating systems, warm air convectors or to provide hot water for your home.

A heat pump will lower your fuel bills, even though it uses electricity, as it replaces more expensive heating systems such as oil or gas and it is more efficient than old electric systems.

An added bonus is carbon dioxide emissions are halved and there are no carbon monoxide dangers. Low noise and efficient, a heat pump is positioned outside so there is no noisy boiler indoors and space is saved internally. Plus no oil tank, no running out of fuel or hunting for the cheapest refill.
